Lamar University and LIT instructors place articles, tests, and other class materials on Reserve
in the Library so that students can access the materials at their convenience. The Reserve Desk
is located on the second floor of the Library.
Materials placed on E-Reserve are available electronically through the Internet from any computer with a web browser. Not every document on reserve is available online.
To access E-Reserves from the Library website:
Click on the Reserves / E-Reserves link in the Quick Links column on the left.
Enter your instructor's last name in the Search For window. Click the Lookup items
on Reserve by Instructor button.
Select your instructor's name and then select your course name and number.
If only one article is on reserve for that course, the "full view" record for that article will appear. If more than one article is on reserve for that course then a list of article titles will appear. Select the Full Details button to see the "full view" record for that article.
In the "full view" record find the URL link or the Electronic Access field and click on the link. Note: If there is no URL link and no Electronic Access field, then that article is not available online. Ask for non-electronic documents at the Reserves Desk on the second floor of the Library.
When you select the article you will be prompted to login. Enter the user name and password provided by your instructor. (If asked for a domain name, leave that entry blank.) Note: If the you have difficulty logging in with the assigned user name, try adding the characters ".\" before the user name. Example: If the user name is "smith" try ".\smith" .
The article will appear in a separate web browser window. You can read the article online, print a copy, or save the article.
